The first two parts of the desert saga “Dune” were an international success. In the meantime, Denis Villeneuve is also supposed to sit on the script for his third adaptation. Casting ideas would probably already exist in this regard.
What about the rumors?
According to “Deadline”, sources are now claiming that are close to the project that Robert Pattinson could now become part of the franchise. More precisely, the 38-year-old should talk about the role of the villain Scytale. However, there should be no official offer to the actor.
Filming for the third part should start this summer. It is expected that many of the other renowned actors will also return: inside the first two films, including Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh.

“Dune” is based on the SCI-Fi book series of the same name by Frank Herbert and currently includes two feature films (2021 “Dune: Part one” and 2024 “Dune: Part two”). Together they are said to have recorded $ 1.12 billion worldwide and won eight Oscars after 15 nominations.
In the first two parts, the young Paul Areide is involved in a power struggle for the valuable spice that is crucial for the survival of the entire universe. After his family is overthrown by betrayal, Paul has to accept his fate as the potential Messiah of the local Fremen and regain control over the desert planet Arrakis.
In November 2024, the spin-off series “Dune: Prophecy”, which plays in the films about 10,000 years before the events.
From the vampire to the bat man – and now into the desert?
Robert Pattinson had his first major appearance on the screen in 2005 in “Harry Potter and the Feuerkelch”. From 2008, however, he achieved the worldwide breakthrough with the role of Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” saga. In 2022 the Brit was seen in the leading role of “The Batman”.
Pattinson currently seems to have a rather full schedule with or without a “dune”. Together with Zendaya, he will be shown this year in the film “The Drama” and in 2026 in “The Odyssey”. He also works as a producer for the film “Primetime”.
