Duel in the table basement: Hallescher FC with a zero number against Dortmund II

Status: 10/11/2022 9:11 p.m

Hallescher FC and Borussia Dortmund, two children from the basement of the third division, parted ways goalless at the end of the 11th matchday.

Third division football club Hallescher FC missed the liberating blow in the absolute basement duel against Borussia Dortmund II. The hosts had to settle for a 0-0 draw in a mediocre game on Monday evening. The victory against the tail light demanded by President Jens Rauschenbach didn’t happen. André Meyer’s team climbed from 19th to 17th place. Dortmund overtook Bayreuth and is no longer last.

The first half was characterized by good defensive lines and moderate attacking performances. Both teams could hardly create any chances. Thanks to an early pressing, Dortmund had more of the game and more of the ball. Halle hardly ever got up to speed. Again and again the players of the hosts were played with their backs to the opposing goal. Occasional ball relays looked promising, but overall there was too often a lack of movement to the goal.

Halles Steyczk failed at BVB keeper Lotka

There was one exception: Attacker Dominik Steczyk was able to march through, also because he was supported by colleague Tom Zimmerschied, who pulled the opponents to the wrong side. In the end, the Pole failed because of a good reaction from the German-Pole Marcel Lotka (11th). Lotka was temporarily in the box for Bundesliga club Hertha BSC last season. Falko Michel made two promising shots for Dortmund, but missed each time (8th/39th).

Halle’s Aaron Herzog (left) against Dortmund’s Falko Michel, who missed two chances to shoot before the break.

HFC a touch closer to the lead than BVB

It didn’t really get any better after the break. Both teams continued to struggle to create opportunities. For the guests, who are now undefeated for the third time, it was more of a half-chance. The HFC defense paid attention. The Sachsen-Anhalters were a touch closer to 1-0: Tunay Deniz’ crack after a Lotka defense flew just over (52′) as did Joker Sebastian Müller’s shot from Leon Damer’s assist shortly before the end (88′). . At the end some whistles could be heard in the wide circle.
