DTB starts webinar series on sustainability topics

On February 24, 2022, the DTB – Dialog Textil-Beclothing eV of the textile and clothing industry, together with industry experts, will start a new webinar series on important sustainability topics in the textile and clothing industry. The aim is to support companies in creating sustainability and transparency.

The demands placed on companies and their supply chains by legislators and the financial markets are already high. In view of the forthcoming introduction of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act on January 1, 2023, these will continue to rise. Further guidelines from the EU in the area of climate protection and sustainability have been announced.

In addition, there is an interest in sustainability management by business partners and the creation of transparency regarding environmental and working conditions for consumers. “We are convinced that a paradigm shift in terms of environmental protection and climate is inevitable and that a broad rethinking on the part of companies and consumers is necessary and best feasible in the community,” says the industry association. Against this background, the DTB is convinced that modernization and restructuring measures are necessary along the entire supply chain.

The #Sustainability event series is divided into three areas:

‘People’ includes working conditions, supply chains and social responsibility (CSR).

‘Process’ deals with manufacturing processes, circular economy, recycling.

‘Product’ deals with raw materials, chemicals and materials.

The first webinar starts on February 24th with the topic of denim recycling and costs 90 euros for non-members, members pay 50 euros. Other events deal with the topics of circular economy, leather production and processing, labels and certificates. A continuously updated overview of the series of events and the possibility to register are available on the DTB website, dialog-dtb.de. The DTB – Dialogue Textile Clothing is the knowledge network of the textile industry and currently has more than 230 member companies.
