Good news from the biathlon world: Janina Hettich-Walz gave birth to her first child. “Finally you are there! Welcome to the world, little Karlotta,” wrote the 28-year-old on Instagram. In addition, the Vice World Champion from 2024 shared a photo on which a small hand holds up the finger of an adult. She provided the post with the hashtag “Baby Girl” and a red heart.
Because of her pregnancy, Hettich-Walz exposes the current biathlon season. She had already announced at the announcement: “In the biathlon stadiums, we will see each other again in the season after next.”
The Black Forest has a firm eye on the 2026 Winter Olympics. “In the 2025/2026 season, my goal is to be part of the team again and take part in the Olympic Games in Milan,” she said. “There are now many examples of athletes who have successfully returned to the top of the world after pregnancy – that would also be my plan.”
