Ryoyu Kobayashi also won the third competition in the Four Hills Tournament of ski jumpers. The Japanese prevailed on Wednesday in Bischofshofen ahead of the two Norwegians Marius Lindvik and Halvor Egner Granerud.

Karl Geiger took fourth place as the best German. The 28-year-old jumped 133 and 136 meters. Despite just missing out on the podium, Geiger was in a good mood after the jump. When asked whether he was disappointed, the man from the Allgäu answered the ARD microphone: “I don’t see it that badly.”

Geiger satisfied with fourth place

That it wasn’t enough for third place was “a bit of a shame”, but he still had a “good competition”. Geiger’s conclusion: “I’ve caught myself so far again.”

Markus Eisenbichler came in eighth. In the overall tour standings, Kobayashi, who has won all three competitions on this tour so far, is ahead of Lindvik. Everything points to Kobayashi’s second overall victory.

Heavy snow drift in Bischofshofen

Severin Freund (12th), Andreas Wellinger (15th) and Stephan Leyhe also took World Cup points from the German team in heavy snowfall in Austria on his 30th birthday (20th).

Constantin Schmid and Pius Paschke, however, were eliminated after the first round. The third touring competition could not take place as planned in Innsbruck on Tuesday due to strong winds. He was therefore made up in Bischofshofen, where the tour finale will also take place on Epiphany.
