Justin Lisso fought his way back for months. Now the German ski jumper has to start all over again.

Justin Lisso has to cope with the next serious setback. Just a few weeks after his comeback, the ski jumper was seriously injured again.

The 25-year-old from WSV Schmiedefeld tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee. The German Ski Association announced this on Monday. This means that Lisso will be out again for a long time.

The Thuringian only celebrated his comeback at the mat jumping in Hinterzarten at the end of September 2025 – after a break of around two years. In June 2023, Lisso injured his knee in a training fall.

Lisso made his World Cup debut in January 2022 at the New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Before his first cruciate ligament injury, he was considered a candidate for making it to the top of the world. In March 2023 he achieved his best World Cup results to date with 13th place in Oslo and 15th place in Lahti.
