UPDATE
A driver crashed into a vehicle in front at high speed on the E34 near Vorselaar in Antwerp on Sunday morning. Four people were injured. The driver had had too much to drink.

The accident happened shortly after 6 am in the direction of Turnhout. A car drove into the vehicle in front at high speed. The impact pushed the struck car off the track. The vehicle ended up in the ditch next to the highway.
The car that was hit had to be towed via a service road next to the E34, and the car that hit was also seriously damaged. Four occupants of the vehicle that collided suffered injuries, but their injuries were not life-threatening. The accident caused traffic disruption on the motorway for a while.
According to a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office in Antwerp, the driver who caused the accident had drunk too much. His driver’s license was immediately revoked.
