Drunen football club opens condolence register for the deceased Matt and Pepijn

The Drunense football association RKDVC has opened a register of condolences for the two young members who died in an accident last Saturday. Matt and Pepijn lost their lives after they were hit on the Midden-Brabantweg near Loon op Zand. They played together in the RKDVC 15 friends team.

On the website, the club writes that it is startled by the news that two young seniors have died in a traffic accident. “A terrible event for the family members in which we as a club want to show our involvement. We therefore hope that many people use the condolence register to show their condolences.”

The association held a meeting with the players of the friends team and their parents on Sunday afternoon. Chairman Hans Brokx spoke to Omroep Brabant earlier on Sunday about an emotional meeting. “We have talked to each other, cried and everything that comes to emotions. It still has to sink in.”

The club wants to use the condolence register to show its support to the family members of the two boys. The condolence register is here to sign.

Investigation into the accident
The collision happened on Saturday night, near a bus station. The two boys were on their way to Tilburg and got off at the stop in Loon op Zand. There the boys crossed the road, after which they were hit by a 23-year-old motorist from Tilburg. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
