The Brabant drug criminal Jos Leijdekkers, better known as ‘Bolle Jos’, has to pay more than 96 million euros to the state. The court in Rotterdam has that Monday afternoon certain. According to the judge, the 34-year-old fugitive earned a total of 127 million euros with his criminal activities.
Last year, Leijdekkers was already sentenced by the court in Rotterdam to 24 years in prison for his involvement in six drug transports, an armed robbery in Finland and giving instructions for liquidation. Justice sees Leijdekkers “as one of the protagonists in the international cocaine trade.”
Lower amount than to
The Public Prosecution Service wanted the much higher amount of 221.7 million euros expropriation of Leijdekkers. The judge ruled on Monday that it has applied a “too wide legal basis”.
In addition, the court judges some ‘merits’ differently. According to the OM, Leijdekkers bought an apartment, expensive watches, handbags and a car for his family, but according to the court that is not convincingly proven.
Leijdekkers and his lawyer were not present during the sessions. Leijdekkers is still on the run and was signaled at a church service in Sierra Leone at the beginning of this year. He would have warm ties with the government in that country.
