The man was already known to the police as someone with dangerous driving behavior. The ‘motorist’ had misbehaved in traffic several times: for example, he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. “In short: someone who should not get behind the wheel,” the police wrote Facebook.
For this reason, his driver’s license was declared invalid. Yet officers saw him driving in Julianadorp today. The police turned around and chased the man.
The driver then decided to stop his car in the middle of the road, jump out of the vehicle and run away. The 36-year-old man managed to shake off the police and hid in an apartment building.
Abandoned nephew
There was a 7-year-old boy in the car, who turned out to be the driver’s nephew. The child was soon reunited with his mother, the suspect’s sister.
The car the man was driving was not his. This vehicle has been seized. The man may report to court at a later time.
