One person was injured in an accident on the N381, De Twee Provinciënweg, near Witteveen last night. The accident happened around 11 p.m.
For reasons unknown, two cars collided. The driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital, two other people were checked by ambulance staff but did not have to go.
The police say they have arrested the 24-year-old driver from Nieuw-Weerdinge. This was on suspicion of dangerous driving behavior and driving under the influence of narcotics. His driver’s license has been confiscated and he is being interrogated by the police.
The N381 between Westerbork and Zweeloo was temporarily closed and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
