Struzan started his career at the American design studio Pacific Eye & Ear where he worked on album covers for bands such as The Beach Boys, Bee Gees and Black Sabbath. He also created the illustration for the album’s cover Welcome to my nightmare by Alice Cooper from 1975.
After leaving the design studio, the designer founded his own company where he initially made striking posters for films of lesser quality. His breakthrough came when he was asked by 20th Century Fox to create a poster for a re-release of George Lucas’ Star wars.
In the years that followed he made the posters for films such as The muppet movie, E.T and many more movies. He retired in 2008.
This year it was announced that Struzan suffered from Alzheimer’s. His family has announced that he died as a result.
