Drenthe wakes up in a white world. Quite a few inches of snow fell last night. Due to the winter conditions and the risk of slippery conditions, code yellow will remain in force in the coming days.
After last night’s snowfall, observers measured no less than thirteen centimeters of snow in De Kiel and Wijster. Seven centimeters of snow fell in Holsloot last night, four in Roderesch and six in Vries.
The weather institute KNMI warns that traffic should take into account slippery conditions due to snow and freezing wet roads. It may continue to snow heavily in the coming days. Code yellow has been extended until 5 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
