Young and old visited each other in countless places to start the year 2026 well together. This created festive scenes throughout the province. For example, the traditional bonfire was lit again in the Ezinge district.
In Hoogeveen, the fire brigade had time to wish their relatives a happy New Year while extinguishing fires. A little further on in Sleen, they anticipated the future by organizing a fireworks show and then continued to party in a tent.
