This week, the municipalities of Hoogeveen, Meppel and Aa and Hunze are giving a big swing to the emergency reception of asylum seekers. This increases the number of places, says spokesman Bart Raaijmakers of the Safety Region Drenthe, from 264 to 491. That is well above the number of 450 that Drenthe committed to in September.
