AZ and Ajax only enter this round. Both teams are active in Europe and that is why they were selected for the opening round of the cup tournament. Because AZ plays against Jagiellonia Białystok in the Conference League on Thursday, December 18, the away match against PEC Zwolle will take place in the week of December 4. All other teams play on Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17 or Thursday 18 December 2025.
Ajax starts the cup tournament with an away match at Excelsior Maassluis. The South Holland opponent is currently in the lower regions of the second division.
