South Korean band BTS has announced a hiatus. During that period, the seven members will not be releasing music as a group, but will focus on their solo careers.

BTS also took a number of breaks in the past, but then it was only for a short period. The men immediately promised that they would come back as a group, but a date for the comeback was not given. “We are all going to take the time to have fun and experience a lot of things. We promise that one day we will return, more mature than we are now.”

The boy band made the news in a video released by BTS in celebration of the group’s 9th anniversary. The men said, among other things, that they have had ‘a difficult period’. For example, band member RM, who writes a lot of lyrics for BTS songs, said he had trouble coming up with lyrics. His colleague Suga agreed.

In recent years, the group has grown into a big name in the worldwide music industry. The band scored with hits such as Dynamitebutter and My Universe, the collaboration with Coldplay. BTS released the album this month proof from.
