While breaking down a carnival car, two teenagers fell out of a platform on Thursday evening. The accident happened in a building shed on Kerklaan in Raamsdonk. One of them did not survive. “It is not possible to capture.”
The boys were breaking down a carnival car from Carnival Association Goei. They fell from a platform. One of them would have been resuscitated and taken to the hospital, Friday morning the message came that the boy did not survive.
“Bizarre. You are still in the intoxication of carnival which went so nicely and then you should not be put into words,” says Stefan van Strien from Stichting Raamsdonkse Karnaval.
He has not been able to speak the boys’ family immediately, but the news is quickly going around in the small village. CV Goei tampered during carnival in the parades in Raamsdonk and Raamsdonksveer.
“Goei tampering has made a very nice contribution to our parade. We are a very close village and have celebrated intense carnival together for four days. Then such a news will arrive even harder.”
According to Van Strien, many villagers indicate that they want to organize a quiet trip. “But we first want to listen to the family what their wish is. We can organize everything, but it has to be with respect for the family, so we are waiting for a while.”
The police have indicated that they are based on a fatal accident.
