The DFB team delivers a strong performance against defending champion Spain. The second half then becomes a thriller – until the game finally becomes a wild matter.

So close to the coup-and in the end: The German U19 national team missed the final of the European Championship in Romania in a dramatic way. In a memorable, crazy semi -finals, the team of national coach Hanno Balitsch lost 5: 6 (3: 3, 1: 0) after extra time.

Max Moerstedt (28th) scored the 1-0 for the German team, Pablo Garcia equalized for Spain (61.) after a good hour. Then all the dams broke: First Said El Mala (78.) brought the DFB-Elf back forward, in a wild stoppage, Garcia then turned the game again for the Iberer (90.+1, 90.+5)-before an own goal of Spain Isaac Cuenca was forced to extend for Germany in the very last second (90.+9).

There, Tomas Marques only cheered the “Red Furie” – before Moerstedt turned the game again with a double strike (104th, 107th). That wasn’t all: Jan Virgili (113.) scored to 5: 5. And once more Garcia (119.) brought Spain to the final.

In the final on June 26th (8pm) Spain now meets the winner of the second semi -finals between the Netherlands and hosts Romania.

104. Minute: The madness continues. Moerstedt meets 4: 4 for Germany. El Mala provides the preparatory work. The DFB-Ang-Freifer presses its deflected flank over the line from a short distance.

99th minute: Heide holds the DFB team in the game. Virgili Tenas leaves worm and pulls to the goal at speed. Heide can just ward off his shot from just under eleven meters.

97th minute: And again the German team is behind. And of course Pablo Garcia has his feet in the game again. He circulates a free kick to the right inner post. From there the ball lands in front of the feet of Tomas Marques, who hits 4: 3 for Spain.
