Draisaitl continues to win, Stützle-Tor not enough for Ottawa

Ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl continues to ride a wave of success with the Edmonton Oilers under new head coach Jay Woodcroft in the North American professional league NHL. The 26-year-old scored in the 4-2 win at the Winnipeg Jets, the Canadians’ fifth win in a row.

Third in the Pacific Division, the Oilers are back on course for the playoffs. Cologne’s Draisaitl prepared the goal for his outstanding strike partner Connor McDavid, who took the lead in the league’s scorer list with two more assists. Draisaitl has 69 points, McDavid has two points more.

Young star Tim Stützle suffered a defeat despite a goal with the Ottawa Senators. The 20-year-old scored his ninth goal of the season in a 3-2 overtime win over the Boston Bruins. Sixth in the Atlantic Division, the team from Canada’s capital has little chance of making the play-offs.
