In a video interview with comedian Kevin Hart, Dr. Dre now explains that while he doesn’t understand why people would be so critical of newer hip-hop, he doesn’t listen to it either. His take on this: “I don’t like most of it”.
As part of Kevin Hart’s talk show “Hart to Heart”, the NWA founder spoke about his assessment of today’s hip-hop. He said: “Hip-hop is what it is. Anyone who talks about the state of hip hop today, if they do it from a negative perspective, sounds like someone’s fucking grandfather. That’s exactly what it is. Hip hop is evolving. If you don’t like me, then don’t listen to him. I don’t like most of the songs. I don’t listen to many of them.”
Still, the rapper-producer explained that doesn’t mean he hates the genre and newer interpretations of the genre. He is also currently working on new music. He is producing the upcoming Snoop Dogg album MISSIONARY. As early as 1992, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre on the soundtrack for the film of the same name, Deep Cover. Snoop was also featured on almost every song on Dre’s debut album THE CHRONIC.
