“Downton Abbey II: A New Era”

Downton Abbey II: A New Era continues the story of the noble family from the series of the same name. Six seasons and one movie later, we find ourselves in 1928: a year that holds several great surprises for the Downton family and domestic staff.

In two story lines, the film tells of a trip to southern France, which leads to the discovery of a family secret, and of the production of a Hollywood film on the Crawley estate, which entails special tasks, especially for Lady Mary.

ROLLING STONE spoke to Elizabeth McGovern (Cora Crawley), Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley), Jim Carter (Mr. Carson) and Penelope Wilton (Isobel Crawley) about returning to Highclere Castle and traveling to the south of France. Laura Haddock (Myrna Dalgleish), Dominic West (Guy Dexter) and Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates) discuss the dynamics on set, and director Simon Curtis explains what it was like working on a film with his wife Elizabeth.
