The environmental organization Parley for the Oceans and the ‘Brand Development’ department of the fashion retailer Dover Street Market Paris (DSMP-BD) have combined their strength in order to focus on innovation and researching alternative materials as well as the development of new technologies.

The cooperation creates space for its own parley label and a collaborative “laboratory” in which creativity meets science in order to “create innovative solutions for the planet”, said DSMP and Parley for the Oceans on Wednesday. This long -term cooperation is intended to develop in many phases, which will be visible for the first time by a project in March. The common main collection is planned for June.

“After more than a decade of the struggle against plastic pollution and the absorption of garbage all over the world, we will open a new chapter and announce the Parley Future Material Initiative-to finance and accelerate eco-innovations that aim at Replacing plastic and other harmful substances, ”said Parley founder Cyrill Gutsch. “Together with our friends and allies at Dover Street Market, a creative epicenter of the fashion industry, we launch the Parley Label – an ongoing joint experiment to explore, celebrate and promote new materials.”

The ‘Parley Future Material’ initiative focuses on the financing and support of the use of natural materials, biofification and greener chemistry. The organization behind it has been drawing attention to marine pollution through plastic, overfishing and climate change for twelve years through various initiatives. Until April last year, the Herzogenaurach sporting goods Adidas was one of the partners: inside of Parley for the Oceans.
