Doubles expert Tim Pütz missed the quarterfinals of the US Open.
The 34-year-old from Frankfurt lost alongside New Zealander Michael Venus in the round of 16 7:6 (7:2), 4:6, 3:6 to Juan Sebastian Cabal/Robert Farah from Colombia.
Pütz was the last remaining German in the competition. The two-time French Open winners Kevin Krawietz/Andreas Mies failed in the second round.
