Double Ignacio helps AFC pass Scheveningen and Jong FC Volendam takes full loot

AFC continues to perform well in the second division. The team from Amsterdam won with clear figures from Scheveningen, 4-1. Raily Ignacio had a large share in this with two hits. Jong FC Volendam surprised IJsselmeervogels: 0-1, while OFC (late defeat) and Koninklijke HFC (draw) remained without three-pointers.

Once again, AFC took three points in the second division. That was the fifth time in a row. The last defeat was October 1 against Kozak Boys. It took a while before Raily Ignacio opened the score at home against Scheveningen. He made it 1-0 on a pass from Guus van Weerdenburg. Soon after the break it was Darren Maatsen, who doubled the score.

The visitors brought back the tension with a goal from Michael de Niet: 2-1. Hope for an equalizer quickly disappeared after Melvin Platje slipped in a cross from Cody Claver: 3-1. In the final phase, Ignacio again contributed, which determined the final score.

The team from Amsterdam remains the leader with 30 points. HHC (29) and Quick Boys (28) are the closest attackers. The latter is next week’s opponent.

IJsselmeervogels – Young FC Volendam 0-1

56′ Joey Antoniolic 0-1

The Volendam promises surprised IJsselmeer birds at Sportpark De Westmaat. After fifteen minutes, Joey Antonioli had a great chance, but he couldn’t get the ball past Jaimy Schaap. Just before that, Wessel Boer had already headed straight into the hands of Kayne van Oevelen. Immediately after the break it was Givairo Read, who was given an imposed chance. He hit the ball wrong.

Khalid Tadmine shot over from a promising position. In the end Antonioli opened the score: 0-1. The Volendam youngsters got away well not much later, after Kevin Sterling was kicked in the box. However, the referee did not give a penalty. Just before time, a header by Kian Visser went just over, but IJsselmeervogels got no further.

Due to the victory, Jong Volendam takes a little more distance from the bottom places. They are now joint thirteenth with fourteen points. Next week they will play against TEC from Tiel, which is next to last.

OFC – Quick Boys 1-2

42 ‘Danny van den Meiracker 0-1
82′ Soufiane Reclauui 1-1
95′ Ivailo Steel 1-2

For a long time, OFC was allowed to dream of a three-pointer against title candidate Quick Boys. A late goal eventually plunged the Oostzaners into mourning. After two minutes, Youssef El Kachati had a free passage towards the goal, but his effort went wide. Chima Bosman also popped up for the OFC target. He couldn’t pull the trigger either. Just before half-time, it turned out three times as a charm, after Danny van den Meiracker scored: 0-1.

In the second half, the visitors again had the better chances, but it was thanks to goalie Daniel Agyei that it remained 0-1. Dyllandro Panka and El Kachati thought to score. However, their goals were flagged for offside. Soufiane Reclauui then made it 1-1. In the last minute of stoppage time it was Ivailo Staal, who gave his team the victory: 1-2.

OFC remains last in the second division. The team will play against Excelsior Maassluis next week.

Excelsior Maassluis – Royal HFC 0-0

Royal HFC had enough opportunities against Excelsior Maassluis, but was left empty-handed. Zakaria Eddahchouri (shot at Tom Boks) and Jacob Noordmans (outside of the post) created the danger in the initial phase. Eddachouri was in a promising position moments later, but Sietse Brandsma was unable to reach him. Brandsma went to Boks alone just before half-time. The goalkeeper won the one-on-one.

Immediately after the break it was Eddahchouri, who shot just wide from a cross by Josh Hilton. HFC appeared to be about to receive a penalty, but the referee waved the protests aside. The Haarlem-squad no longer created great opportunities. As a result, the score remained 0-0.

HFC remains in eleventh place with sixteen points due to the draw. Jong Sparta Rotterdam is the next opponent.
