Well -known reinforcement for the offensive: Borussia Dortmund has signed Fábio Silva from the Wolverhampton Wanderers. At Borussia, the attacker signs a contract until June 30, 2030. The club announced this on Friday afternoon.

Previous had already been speculated about a transfer by the Portuguese from the Premier League to BVB. Now the change has been determined. The club did not provide any information about a transfer fee.

“It was our goal to put the team broader during the ongoing transfer period in the storm center in order to be as unpredictable as possible and be prepared for all situations in three competitions,” BVB Managing Director Lars Ricken is quoted in the communication of the Dortmund. “We needed a lot of patience to enforce our ideas and are now happy to have committed a player with great potential in Fábio Silva.”

The 23-year-old Silva had already moved to Wolverhampton in 2020, but was borrowed in many ways. Last season, the Portuguese international scored 10 goals in 24 league missions for the Spanish first division team and Las Palmas, preparing 3 more goals.

Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl added: “Fábio Silva was considered an extraordinary talent at a very young age, has had important experience in the past seasons, has matured football and human and still a young, capable of development.” Silva brings “a lot of quality: gate risk, game intensity, pace, and it can be used flexibly in several positions. All of this and the fact that he is a successful striker, makes this transfer very valuable for us.”
