‘Don’t sit at home after a heavy juice bomb’

Mattie Valk just finished his week at Qmusic, despite the intense juice that Yvonne Coldeweijer spread about him on Tuesday. Wise, thinks Evert Santegoeds.

Yvonne Coldeweijer exploded a big juice bomb this week about Mattie Valk, the big star of Qmusic. The juice queen thinks he’s a “disgustingly bad person” after learning he lied about his twin drama. Although he initially asked her not to bring the juice, the DJ later laughed about it on the radio.

Beyond all limits

It is sensible that Mattie just finished his broadcast week as if nothing had happened, says Evert Santegoeds. The editor-in-chief of Privé thinks that the radio maker is being attacked very hard on social media. “It is something of this time,” he says in his podcast Strictly Private.

He continues: “If you are doing well, you will receive messages, but if you are not doing well, you will also receive the wind in a terrible way. What you sometimes read under messages on Instagram posts… It goes so very far. I feel the same way about Mattie. I really think that… How he has now come under fire is also beyond all limits.”

Silent Mattie

His colleague Jordi Versteegden, entertainment reporter for De Telegraaf, finds it striking that Mattie remains silent. “Yes. The context is that Yvonne Coldeweijer has done research into what happened to those two children he may or may not have brought into the world. That story comes from a few years ago.”

He continues: “It’s very intense, but it seems that Mattie just keeps going and that he doesn’t want to talk too much about it on the radio. Do you think it’s smart of him not to respond further to this?”

‘Don’t sit at home’

Yes, says Evert. He advises Mattie not to sit at home. “I would just ignore it and not sit at home. When are you going to get back to work?”

He continues: “The strange thing is that that statement was issued, partly on behalf of that ex. How about that, I would like to hear from her and on the other hand: it was a long time ago and they are not his children, so why should he feel responsible for that?
