Donots: “Today is a good day” (review & stream)

“Louder Than Bombs” was powerful, for band and genre. It was in 2018 when the people of Ibbenbüren clamored against the brutality of the egomaniacs, against disinformation and too much general shit. Five years later, the world stares paralyzed into an abyss of hatred and incompetence – and the Donots have a child sing “This is the end of the world” and hand over a dried-up bouquet.

Cynicism? On the contrary.

Cynicism? On the contrary. Maybe this thunder in 15 chapters is just the remedy for the energy crisis of the “radical passivists”. “With the heart of gold and the sword of wood” calls Ingo: “Roar at them!” The full-throttle songs don’t quite keep up with the 2018 work, hooks and diversity are missing. Nevertheless: good band!
