Doncic another 51 points: streak record 250 points in 5 NBA games

Gregg Popovich half-jokingly guaranteed that his Spurs (12-24) would keep Doncic under 50 points. Well, they didn’t succeed… The Slovenian in fact scores 51 at the At&T Center and gives the Mavericks (21-16) their sixth straight win. It’s Luka’s third game of at least 50 points in his last 5 outings. He thus becomes the first player all era to put together 250 points, 50 rebounds and 50 assists in 5 games. It makes the history of the game. Dallas needs all of its 51 points, including free throws scored with 4″ to go to win the Texan derby, comeback after also leading by 17 points. In the sprint Tre Jones then misses the free throw for a possible equaliser, then Luka deliberately misses from the foul line to prevent Spurs from taking the last shot to try and win.
