US President Donald Trump has continued his marathon of decrees. On Thursday (January 23rd) he signed numerous other regulations that can be implemented immediately without parliamentary review.

In addition to pardoning abortion opponents who were prosecuted after boycotting clinics, Trump released all files on the murder of John F. Kennedy, including this TIME Magazine reports. He said: “Many people have been waiting for this for years, for decades. Everything will be revealed.”

The Minister of Justice and the intelligence coordinator must now present Donald Trump with a plan for the complete publication of the secret documents within two weeks. The US President had actually promised final clarification in the case of the shot democratic president during his first term in office from 2017 to 2021.

Donald Trump has previously called for clarity on the Kennedy issue

At that time, however, Trump allowed certain information to continue to be kept secret at the request of the secret services. They argued that full disclosure could endanger national security. The billionaire made it clear at the time that the remaining files would be published at a later date.

The remaining files on the assassination attempts on Robert F. Kennedy and the civil rights activist Martin Luther King in 1968 are now to be released at Donald Trump’s request. However, a 45-day deadline applies here.

Why the effort? Many hoped that the files could provide new clues about the role of secret services, foreign governments or possible conspiracies.
