Don Matteo 14, last episode: previews for December 19th

AND the time has come for the grand finale for Don Matteo 14. Tonight at 9.30pm on Rai 1 the last episode of the season airs. The series with Raoul Bova in the role of Don Massimo bids farewell to viewers, but it is not a farewell. The collaboration between Lux Vide, the production company, and Rai will continue. Meanwhile the tenth episode, entitled Resurrectionputs the protagonists faced with unexpected events and important choices. One question hovers above all: what will happen to Giulia and Diego?

Gets quinof a special permit to ensure that inmates of the Spoleto prison can participate in religious services. Also Marshal Cecchini (Nino Frassica) is engaged in a new adventure: events lead him to become the director of a theater show based on the life of Jesus. An experience he has never had before, but Cecchini, as we know, is a volcano of ideas, often bizarre.

Therefore he is committed to completing the task entrusted to him. But, when he least expects it, a light bulb goes on for him. Seeing the inmates participating in the mass, he decides to involve them in the show.

Giulia and Diego get together?

There is no shortage of affairs of the heart. In the fourteenth season of Don Matteo they concerned Captain Martini (Eugenio Mastrandrea) and Giulia (Federica Sabatini), Don Massimo’s sister. In the last episode, during the gala evening at which Vittoria (Gaia Messerklinger) did not show up, they were about to kiss.

A moment before, however, Diego pulled back leaving Giulia alone. When he arrived at Vittoria’s house, he said in one breath: «I was wrong not to tell you about the dizziness, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again. Victoria, me I love you and with you I want to be a completely different man and share everything, forever. Marry me!». What will happen in the last episode?

Giulia is angry, disappointed and scared. He is afraid of losing Diegoespecially after finding out about the marriage proposal. The feeling, however, is stronger than any risk and he decides to face it once and for all, before it’s too late. She confesses her love to him, hopefully. Instead, Martini is firm on his decision: «Giulia, I’m very sorry, but I love Vittoria»he tells her.

Giulia can’t do anything except accept the disappointment and move on. But the doubt remains: is the captain really in love with Vittoria or would he like the story to be over and never coming back?

Cecchini continues to weave the web to bring him closer to Giulia: it is certain that they should be together. He turns to Don Massimo, with a request to speak to one of the two. The priest reminds him that free will applies to everyone, “even in love”.

Then, seeing that his sister really suffers from unrequited love, he tries to be close to her. “Is there a way to make someone who doesn’t want you love you?” she asks heartbrokenly. «I don’t think so», replies the priest, «but you succeeded with me». In fact, if the two brothers have become closer it was thanks to Giulia, a woman evidently capable of breaking down the defense systems of those in front of her. He also did it with Diego.

Don Massimo also has another problem to solve. He discovered that Adele (Olivia Manescalchi), Giulia’s mother, has gathered information about a clinic in Switzerland where she will die. She is seriously ill and has decided to give up. The sister, however, knows nothing and Massimo will have to understand how and when to tell her about it. Finally, the unexpected twist: Don Massimo is the victim of an attack. His beloved motorcycle blows up just before he starts driving. Who is the instigator?
