Domenico Tedesco is reportedly about to quit as Belgium coach. A possible successor has signed elsewhere.
The signs that Domenico Tedesco is leaving as Belgium national coach are apparently increasing. However, as the Belgian newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad” now reports, talks with the possible successor Sérgio Conceição were not successful. The Portuguese signed with Italian first division club AC Milan.
Accordingly, there are discussions with new candidates. According to the newspaper, sports director Vincent Mannaert wants to propose a new national coach by the end of the month.
The criticism of Tedesco increased again in Belgium after several games for the “Red Devils” without a win and the direct relegation in the Nations League that was narrowly averted. The former Bundesliga coach of RB Leipzig and Schalke 04 had again pointed out the high number of injuries in November and was sure that he was still the right man for the job. His contract runs until the 2026 World Cup.
