The environments of the shelters, even the well-structured ones, cannot guarantee the warmth of a home, neither in the strict sense nor in the metaphorical sense, despite the dedication of the operators.

«Our priority is always to find a home and a new life for every dog and cat we look after», explains Piera Rosati, President of LNDC Animal Protection. «But it’s not always possible, e.g many of them will face another winter in a box». This is why LNDC invites everyone to donate their old blankets to the nearest shelter.
Even accommodation facilities such as hotels, bed & breakfasts and holiday homes that renew their facilities can contribute with discarded blankets and quilts. «This simple but concrete gesture can make a big difference for animals waiting for a family», explains Rosati.
