Morello’s induction speech into the “Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame” allows conclusions to be drawn about the end of RATM.
It seems like Tom Morello has confirmed the end of Rage Against The Machine. At least that’s how a new post from the guitarist on social media can be interpreted. After the band announced at the beginning of January that they would no longer play any more concerts to celebrate their reunion in 2019, Morello shared a video of his speech at the induction of Rage Against The Machine into the “Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame” in November 2023. In this He agreed to be the only band member to take part in the event.

“I am grateful for the musical chemistry I was lucky enough to share with Brad Wilk, Tim Commerford and Zack de la Rocha. Like most bands, we have different perspectives on most things, including getting into the Rock Hall,” are the first sentences the musician says in the video after his introduction. He sees the honor as an opportunity to celebrate with fans, the “fifth member of Rage Against The Machine”.
He then focuses on protesting and changing the world. He encourages people to make changes themselves. He emphasizes: “Don’t wait for us. Rage [Against The Machine] are not here, but you are. What we have set ourselves to do is not finished yet, but you are the ones who have to be the proof of it.” Another sentence suggests that the group will no longer perform: “If you are disappointed, never rage Having seen Against The Machine, you start your own band.”
About Rage Against The Machine’s turbulent past
Although Morello did not comment further on the clip, the post fits with the statements made by drummer Brad Wilk in early January 2024, which apparently announced the end of the band. According to them, Rage Against The Machine would no longer tour or perform together.
This is the third dissolution for the group. Founded in 1991, the quartet split up for the first time in 2000 – this year also saw the release of what is still their most recent album, RENEGADES. They were then active again from 2007 to 2011. Between 2016 and 2019, Morello, Wilk and Commerford also performed as Prophets Of Rage alongside DJ Lord and Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill. This supergroup disbanded in favor of reuniting Rage Against The Machine. However, their planned big reunion tour was slowed down by the pandemic.
