Johan Derksen denies that he and his colleagues from Today Inside are demanding more money during their current negotiations with John de Mol. “We did not ask for an increase.”
The men of Today Inside currently earn between 1.2 and 1.4 million euros per year per person. However, according to Tina Nijkamp, who was at the helm of SBS 6 for years, they are worth much more money. She knows what amounts are converted from advertising breaks and states that the VI gentlemen can reach 2 to 2.5 million euros per person.
Tina’s calculations
Evert Santegoeds states that the men of VI are being taken advantage of by Tina, but Johan Derksen denies that they are demanding these kinds of amounts during their current contract negotiations with John de Mol.
The VI star says against Show news that he did take Tina’s calculations into account: “Tina Nijkamp, as ex-director of SBS, has calculated the costs of our program. Our costs are much lower than something like the Meilandjes, who fly all over the world and travel through Europe with caravans.”
2.5 million euros
Even with a much higher salary, the VI gentlemen would still be cheaper than the Meilandjes, says Tina. Johan about this: “We sit at that table and with the viewing figures, she has calculated for us, you should actually earn the man 2.5 million. Well, we completely agree with that,” he says.
But, says Johan: “We understand very well that that is laughable, you know. We didn’t ask for an increase at all. Money is no object, but there were individual problems.”
Extra
Two of the three individual problems have now been resolved, Johan continues. “René actually didn’t want to sit for five days anymore, so he has now been given Wednesday off.”
“I felt like a kind of extra for Wilfred Genee who was occasionally allowed to shout something vulgar and laugh at a video with a gentleman with a very big dick, and for the rest I often thought that the serious topics were skipped. but that has also been resolved.”
Frustrated
That leaves Wilfred’s wish for a solo program. “Wilfred is of course a bit frustrated that he is only very successful with Van der Gijp and me at the table, and that is a coincidence, because Wilfred is a very good, a very good presenter. Perhaps the best in the Netherlands.”
“Look, I sometimes clash with him, but as a professional I think very highly of him. He wants to have such a program, but it is not the case that prime time is open and there is now some bickering about that.”
