Suzan & Freek provided an emotional shock golf on television last night with the news that he is incurably ill. All current programs responded with visible emotion.
Freek Rikkerink (32), known for the duo Suzan & Freek, has metastatic lung cancer and will no longer get better. They stop immediately with all their work and will therefore not be seen as new coaches in The Voice of Holland. This shocking health news provided emotional reactions in all current programs last night.
“Does he see his child?”
From the eight-hour news to RTL Boulevard and from Hart van Nederland to Renze: it was a serious item in all TV programs. “It is a message that I think I have read six times, because you don’t really want to believe it,” said Shownieuws-Presentatrice Airen Mylene, who points out that Suzan & Freek are expecting their first child in the fall.
Suzan & Freek hope to welcome the child together. Leontien van Moorsel about that: “They have also been together since they were fourteen, isn’t it? It is terrible. Also that child. He may not see his own child. Oh, if you think about it. I just got nauseous and I don’t think just me. I think the whole of the Netherlands.”
“Am I reading that right?”
Bram Moszkowicz has also been brought up. “I didn’t want to believe the head. I think: am I reading it right? Yes, I read it well unfortunately. Yes, then you are quiet.”
Winston Gerschtanowitz, who is also sitting at the table: “He is 32 and of course you have to think about that right away, and the child that is coming. This is really such a mega-oriented scenario that everyone feels the pain of. How is this? If there is something bigger, then this is the examples of things that cannot and cannot happen.”
Goosebumps
Eva Jinek opens her broadcast with the news and is visibly emotional. Welmoed Sijtsma says in later in the evening Good evening Netherlands: “We were all a bit upset, isn’t it? I also have goosebumps all the time when I hear about it that way.”
Guest Justine Marcella: “Yes, I have been silent for a very long time. I lost my mother to lung cancer, but she was 69 and did not have a baby on the way. They are so crazy on each other, are extremely populary, have the wind in all ways and then this is so disastrous and so few words for it.” ””
Terrible
Medegast Caroline van der Plas has lost her husband and brother to cancer. “It is terrible for them. It is just not to comprehensible if you get such a message and in their case also so young, and then also a child coming. Yes, they end up in such a huge rollercoaster. You just don’t know what happens to you at all.”
She continues: “It’s just very sad. Such a young guy, so much luck that they radiate … it’s always a cliché but health is just the most important thing.”
Sad day
Renze Klamer recently had Suzan & Freek in his program. He says In his talk show On RTL 4: “It’s a sad day.”
Sidekick Gijs Rademaker: “Everyone who was busy with his news items at RTL News fell silent for a moment. They were really touched. I naturally also fell silent for a moment. I think a lot of people in the country really stop when you hear this. There is no better singing couple than these two.”
Renze: “I think everyone just loves them a bit.”
