In the first episode of this three -part summer series on technology, editor Marc Hijink takes you into the world of Humanoids: human robots with a head full of AI. Among tech investors, they are a true hype: Elon Musk counts on a ‘human-robot ratio’ from one to two and investment bank Stanley Morgan estimates that in 2050 half of the human workers can be replaced by robots. How realistic are these predictions? Do human robots offer the solution for scarcity or aging? Engineer and robot collector Richard Kuijpers suspects that a robot assistant will already take over care tasks in a number of years.
