It was a striking appearance in Eva Jinek’s talk show last week: her former colleague Jaïr Ferwerda joined us to talk about his new book. She took him with her when she left for RTL, but did not inform him when she suddenly returned to the NPO. And that caused him some disappointment.
Back to Eva?
All wrinkles now seem to have been ironed out, because Jaïr was at Eva’s table this week. “When we were watching it, we had the feeling: hey, is that a cautious flirt from Eva’s editorial team, like: come back to our talk show?”, says Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden.
He continues Show news: “Eva has had him before as a reporter, but she was not very polite when she left RTL, because she did not really let him know that she was leaving. That did not end well.”

According to Jordi, what will play a role for Jaïr is that he knows that Eva is not very loyal. “It then went quite smoothly that Eva returned to AvroTros. All kinds of people had to be informed at once and that did not go entirely smoothly.”
He continues: “I am absolutely not saying that it is Eva’s fault, but now the question is: where will Jaïr end up? Is that with Renze or perhaps with Eva Jinek and the public broadcaster?”
Better RTL?
What would Jordi do if he were in Jair’s shoes? “Jaïr can do more than just stand at the Binnenhof with his microphone, because he can also make documentaries. Then I think you are in a very good place at RTL and Videoland and perhaps even better than at the NPO.”
Jaïr himself says about a possible return to Eva: “No, no. Well, yes, or no… I am under contract with RTL, so for the time being I will stay with RTL. Renze is starting a new talk show and then I have to see what my role will be in that new program, but we will see.”
