Documentary about serious injury Vivianne Miedema and partner: ‘Prepare young girls better’

When Vivianne Miedema tore her cruciate ligament more than a year ago, she knew that her World Cup had to be canceled. A month before disaster struck the Dutch woman, the same thing happened to her friend Beth Mead. Their rehabilitation has been recorded in a documentary.

Miedema is happy that she can share her story. “One of the reasons for making this documentary is to make the future generation less afraid of these types of injuries, because help is available,” says the 27-year-old striker. Sky Sports about docuseries Step by step .

“The next step we need to take is to better prepare young girls for professional football,” Miedema continues. “So far that hasn’t been a priority, but I think it should be at the top of the list.”
