Do-it-yourself: Try the large nearby ice cream route!

Game rules

Okay folks, ice cream is of course deadly serious business. That’s why we officially start with the rules of the game. Put on good shoes, choose a sunny day and keep the route to hand. You will find this route at the end of this list. The walk is almost 8 kilometers long and takes 1 hour and forty minutes. However, this does not include time for breaks to order and eat your ice cream. So count on being sweet for two and a half hours. Another golden tip from experienced ice cream eaters: order one scoop per salon, otherwise the stomach will fill up too quickly.

Okay, let’s go!

Pavarotti

We start the route nicely in the Stadshart, at the ice cream parlor Pavarotti. Choose a first ice cream flavor here to set the tone. Runners are the stracciatella and the smurf ice cream.

Then we continue to the next destination. Walk along the Marseillepad – enjoy the view of the Grote Dobbe – and cross the water. Walk along the canal for a while and turn left at the Leidse Wallen. Cross the water again so that you arrive in the Dorpsstraat.

Hike 1: 11 minutes (950 meters)

Zuliani’s Gelato

Here you will find Zuliani’s Gelato. Nice and centrally located in the Dorpsstraat. Zuliani’s Gelato is a real Italian ice cream parlor and you can choose from sixty flavors here. Order your second ice cream and in the meantime continue to stop three. That will be a long walk. Walk around Wilhelminapark, via Eerste Stationsstraat to Tweede and Derde Stationsstraat. A long way straight ahead, so easy!

Walk 2: 36 minutes (2.6 km)

Zinn Zoetermeer

Cross at the Juweellaan and walk via the Reginagang to the Samanthagang. There you will find shopping center Rokkeveen with ice cream parlor Zinn Zoetermeer! You’ve had a nice walk, so you probably already feel like a new scoop of ice cream. Hmm… plenty of tasty flavors to choose from. Psst… Don’t forget to ask about the special!

Okay, equipped? We bravely continue our journey. Walk through Bredewater and Groenewater. Then cross the Meerzichtlaan.

Walk 3: 28 minutes (2.1 km)

Cups and Cones

You will arrive at Meerzicht Shopping Center, where you can find the Cups & Cones ice cream parlor. That’s your next stop! Cups & Cones creates ice cream from the makers of Zuliani’s. You have delicious summer fruit flavors, but also Baileys and Zoete Koko’s. Sounds good!

Then we now start the walk to the last destination. Walk through Uiterwaard and Kerkenbos over the Meerzicht and turn right at the Voorweg.

Walk 4: 27 minutes (2.1 km)

Jamin

Your last destination: the Jamin in the city center! Yes, the circle is complete again. Time for a soft ice cream or an ice cold slush puppy. A good way to finish! On the next slide you can view the complete route map of this nearby ice cream route.
