Dmitrij Jaškin will play in St. Petersburg SKA next season.

Forward Dmitrij Jaškin played in the NHL last season with the Arizona Coyotes, but decided to return to Russia and the KHL this season.

Jaškin received several contract offers from the NHL in the summer, according to the Czech media of iSport but still decided to move to St. Petersburg SKA.

The move got the Czech legend Dominik Hašek too to open the verbal coffin.

– I am so sorry. The work done by a Czech citizen in Russia is supporting the Russian regime and the war and thus a danger to our country and its citizens. However, I do not blame him or his agent, but our government and parliament, because they did not pass a law that would have prohibited this, Hašek wrote on his Twitter account.

Now the comments of the NHL legend have also been taken by Jaškin himself. The forward played only 12 games in the NHL last season, as he suffered a bad knee injury in the early season.

– I go to the KHL to work, do what I love and play hockey. Sports have nothing to do with the current world situation.

– Everyone who went to play in the KHL, (Libor) Šulák, (Rudolf) Červený, (Michal) Jordan– they all received hate and unpleasant messages. Do I want to reply to Hašek somehow? No, let him say what he needs, Yashkin continued and laughed Championatin by.

Šulák and Červený will represent Admiral Vladivostok in the coming season, while Jordán will represent Amur Khabarovsk.

However, Jaškin continued his answer.

– In my opinion, there is a personal struggle for power and influence in the union, because both applied to be the leader of the union and (Alois) Gadamchik won. Hasek was not elected, so now he is trying to score some political points.
