Djokovic-Sinner at 2.30pm on the Centrale: Tuesday’s program in Wimbledon

The match between Jannik and Nole will open the day on Center Court, followed by Jabeur. Norrie and Goffin will play on field 1

By dint of the first few times, Jannik Sinner is getting a taste for it. The first victory on the grass (against Stan Wawrinka), the first match at Wimbledon Central, the first challenge against Carlos Alcaraz at the Grand Slam level. And now, the first cross in a Major against Novak Djokovic, faced only once in his career: last year on the land of Monte Carlo, with the success of the Serbian in two sets. The match between the two, in the quarter-finals of the Championships, will obviously be on the Center Court. And it will be the first of the day: appointment at 2.30 pm, Italian time.

Field 1

Whoever wins between Djokovic and Sinner will find in the semifinals one between Cameron Norrie – host, seeded number 9 – and the expert David Goffin: the two will take the field in the second match on field 1, the program of which will be inaugurated by the challenge feminine, all German, between Tatjana Maria and Jule Niemeier. A generational clash, with 12 years between the two: at 35 and returning from second maternity leave, Maria is for the first time in the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam. After beating Maria Sakkari and Jelena Ostapenko, number 5 and 13 of the seeding, the number 103 in the world has no limits: appointment at 14 Italian.

Jabeur after Sinner

The fourth and last match of the day as regards the singles draws will be the other women’s quarter-final of the lower part: Ons Jabeur, seeded number 3, will face the Czech Marie Bouzkova, number 66 in the world. The two players will play on the Centrale after the match between Sinner and Djokovic, the most anticipated match of the day and not only by the Italian public. Another first time for Jannik, who knows it might not be another day of glory.
