Djammen: Mary Jay, from postman to professional musician

He is active – when busy -, present and very passionate when it comes to music. Merlin Tuik, aka Mary Jay. His dream? At the conservatory and then become a professional musician.

The young singer-songwriter from Emmen is currently a mail deliverer and busy with preparatory training to enter the conservatory. He says it’s not easy, but he’s going for it. “Theoretically, I’m not that strong yet. I’m doing research on that now,” explains Merlijn. “Musical theoretical knowledge is so important for your own development.”

According to him, music is more than just playing together. He plays one of his newest songs without a band: Little Red Roses. A sensitive song about love. “What I think is really cool is to show you a sensitive side of me.”
