Dispute with league: Italy training camp canceled

After a dispute with the league, Italy’s national soccer coach Antonio Conte canceled a training camp planned for February 8th to 10th and, according to media reports, is now considering resigning after the European Championships in France (June 10th to July 10th). Conte wanted to gather the Squadra Azzurra around seven weeks before the international match against world champions Germany (March 29 in Munich) to lay the foundations for the EURO. According to a league decision, he would only have been released for those players who do not play in the European Cup with their clubs. Conte reacted immediately with the cancellation.
