Discover our brand new all-in-one app: the place for subscribers

DVHN has a new app and we are very proud of it. The app brings together everything DVHN stands for. News, backgrounds, podcast, video and news from your own hometown. We highlight the eight most special stories with full-screen photography.

The digital developers of Mediahuis Noord hope to soon be able to add the digital newspaper to the new app. This is currently being tested, also with subscribers. If the light goes green, DVHN will have everything in one and the same app. With current news, background stories, podcasts, videos, quizzes, interactive infographics, puzzles and therefore the PDF version of the paper newspaper.

The place for subscribers

When the time comes, we will shout it from the rooftops. But it is already very worthwhile to download the new app. It is really the place for subscribers to receive our news digitally. You can set notifications for different news streams. If something special happens, you will receive a push message and you can read the story immediately.

Puzzle along with the NewsWordle

The daily NewsWordle is also new. A puzzle based on current news. Another striking feature is the ‘Featured’ button, behind which you can find eight stories of which we are extra proud. These stories are presented in a TikTok-like manner. That means with full-screen photos that pass by in a vertical carousel. Touching a photo leads to the underlying story.

News from your own municipality

We know from research that you are also interested in news from your own hometown. Anyone who downloads the app can choose a municipality to follow. News and stories from this municipality can then be found via the ‘local’ button. The DVHN editorial team works together with journalists from the news and weeklies, who compile a mix of local stories from DVHN and the news and weeklies.

This way you get our news app on your phone

The new app is called ‘DVHN news’. Anyone who has an Apple smartphone can find the app in the Apple App Store. Readers with an Android device must be in the Playstore. Searching for the title leads to the app. You can also scan one of the attached QR codes.
