Logically, the disappointment at Smit dominates after the draw. “It’s just a shame we don’t win here. If we had won, I could have celebrated both. I have talked about it more often with teammates that I had to make a goal, today was the day.”
The way of cheering the young midfielder stood out. First he hit his arm and then he pointed to his head. “I did that on the arm because it was time for a goal. One of the assistant trainers told me that I had to visualize a goal. I didn’t necessarily do that, but I had to point to my head after the goal.” Not because of a new coupe? “That happened, but I didn’t want to show that,” laughs Smit.
