Disappointing NK for Denise Betsema: cyclo-cross rider has to admit a minute

Denise Betsema did not score well during the Dutch National Championships cyclo-cross. The cyclocross rider from Texel crossed the finish line in sixth place in Rucphen in Brabant, more than a minute behind.

Lucinda Brand and Marianne Vos took the lead in the public-less NK. Denise Betsema immediately had to chase after Puck Pieterse, Annemarie Worst and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. Betsema failed to connect after the first round. Still, Betsema managed to take the lead for a while, but after a slip she had to get off the bike, after which Vos rode away for ten seconds.

The former world champion drove away from the rest and could no longer be traced. In Rucphen there was no better match than Vos, although Brand and Alvarado came close in the final round. As a result, Betsema was no longer in the race for the podium and the Texel rider crossed the finish line in sixth place.
