Greuther Fürth’s fans are disappointed with the club’s management. They wrote a letter to the board – which responded on Thursday.

The fans of the second division club Greuther Fürth are protesting. Despite the win against Preußen Münster, the club is only in 14th place in the current table. The club’s supporters have now written a letter to the board, reports the “Kicker”.

They address the management as well as the supervisory board, the honorary council and the presidium. Almost a week before the annual general meeting, 22 fan clubs are calling on the club to show perspectives. “It is such a diverse crisis that has not only affected the professional team. There is so much wrong that many fans and members of the Kleeblatt feel almost helpless because they don’t know what they can do to find a way out of this crisis,” the “Kicker” quotes from the open letter.

Apparently it’s not just about the current defeats, including a 6-0 defeat against SV Elversberg. In fact, the fans probably don’t see why sports director Rachid Azzouzi and the then coach Alexander Zorniger had to pack their bags last October.

“This was justified by the need for a ‘new sporting beginning’,” the letter says, according to “Kicker”. “But a year later there is no sign of this. What was the goal of those responsible? What exactly should be improved? Which ‘structures’ and ‘processes’ did they want to change or implement?”

The fans want to know what vision those responsible for the club have and how the cloverleaf can build on the successes of previous years. They are still hoping for a conversation before the annual general meeting.

The club’s management reported on the club’s website. “In addition to the questions raised particularly about the sporting situation, the responsible committees are also dealing with other challenges, in particular the economic situation. We are tackling the necessary and already initiated measures in trusting teamwork between those responsible, knowing full well that changes do not show results overnight,” it said. They want to start the exchange next Monday as part of the annual general meeting.
