Dirk Schuster stays even if he misses promotion

After the dismissal of coach Marco Antwerpen, Dirk Schuster should now complete Lautern’s promotion to the second division in the relegation. The 54-year-old will stay if that doesn’t work out.

Dynamo Dresden still has the league game against the already relegated Erzgebirge Aue in front of their chests, but can neither slip down to 17th place nor reach 15th place, which would mean direct relegation.

Schuster also has a contract for the third division

The fact that third division club Kaiserslautern missed out on direct promotion this season is something that the former Bundesliga club have themselves to blame for. The last three games at Wehen Wiesbaden (1:2), against Borussia Dortmund II (1:3) and Viktoria Cologne (0:2) were all lost. Now, with trainer Dirk Schuster, the ascent should be made clear. But what if the plan fails and Lautern only plays third-class in the coming season?
