The resident of the province of Como, who used his speedboat as a taxi, is accused of manslaughter. Experts have been trying since the accident to reconstruct what exactly happened and to determine who is responsible for the tragedy.
The first findings in any case show that the driver of the taxi boat had traces of narcotic agents in his blood. It is unclear what kind of drugs it was, and more importantly, how much of the drugs was found in his blood.
A search has been made in the home of the 45-year-old Italian, in Ponte Lambro. It also yielded a positive result: the financial police found a gram of marijuana and almost a pound of an exotic tea species, which, according to the Public Prosecution Service, is classified as a prohibited substance.

There was a group of friends in it. Among them was Julina de Lannoy, a 33-year-old Dutch tourist, who bleed to death after an artery was hit by the screw of the speedboat. The Dutch was a dancer from Amsterdam and studied in Brussels.
According to Italian media, the woman, originally Aruban, lost her balance at the collision and ended up in the lake. The captain of the other ship tried to resuscitate her. She was transferred to the Sant’Anna Hospital with a trauma helicopter, but died there shortly after arrival.
“We have known our client for twenty years, and if he assures us that he has not used drugs that day or the day before, we believe him,” said his lawyer Roberto Colombo, who, together with his colleague Lucia Nulli, assists the 45-year-old resident of Como, in the Medium La Provincia di Como. “If there are traces of substances in his blood, we must first make clear what we are talking about, and whether this has actually influenced his ability to control the speedboat.”
The counsel continues on the seizure of drugs during the house search: “In addition to the Gram Hash, the financial police have also seized the composition of an energy drink that is regularly purchased online. He himself showed the packaging. If it is on the list of prohibited resources, he was certainly not up to date.”
